This year LADAMA Theatre School present Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical Jr., a one act version of the West End smash hit! This story of a girl who dreams of a better life and the children she inspires will have everyone rooting for the Revolting Children who are out to teach the grown-ups a lesson.
Matilda is kind, clever and has the most extraordinary powers! Unloved by her cruel and conniving parents, she impresses her schoolteacher the loveable Miss Honey. Matilda’s school life isn’t completely smooth sailing, however – the school’s mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves thinking up cruel and unusual punishments for those who don’t abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in spades and could just be the school pupils, and Miss Honey’s, saving grace. Proving that sometimes you have to be a little bit Naughty!
Following interval you will be treated to Miracle Musicals, an hour of songs from stage and screen. With firm favourites from Guys and Dolls, Les Misérables and The Greatest Showman there’ll be songs that are new, some are old and some that you can sing along to! We’ll be asking if there’s Life on Mars? and travelling 500 miles then heading Back to the 80s with Little Shop of Horrors.
There’s something for everyone in LADAMA Theatre School’s 2024 musical spectacular!
