Lundie Theatre Group proudly presents The Steamie – a heart-warming comedy by Tony Roper that celebrates the spirit, resilience, and camaraderie of working-class women in post-war Glasgow.
About The Steamie
Set in a bustling washhouse on Hogmanay, 1949, this beloved Scottish classic is filled with laughter, warmth, and touching moments.
Following a sold-out four-night run in Lundin Links, we’re excited to bring this production to a larger stage—encouraged by glowing feedback from Largo Links editor Greg Smith:

From my point of view, the acting was up there with professional Theatre Groups, and could easily be taken to larger venues. Lundie Theatre Group has been entertaining audiences since 1926, and as we approach our centenary, we’re thrilled to take this next step forward. Bringing The Steamie to a larger venue is a milestone for us—and a testament to the joy, laughter, and dedication poured into this production by everyone involved.
