Located in Kirkcaldy's town centre, the Adam Smith Theatre is a popular venue in a traditional setting, well-loved for its high-quality shows, full-scale cinema and long history as the heart of the local arts scene.
We run a diverse and popular programme of events at this 475-seat venue, including comedy, dance, drama, music, and children's theatre. The theatre also supports and hosts local arts organisations, such as Kirkcaldy Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Societies, as well as classes and workshops.
When not in use for live performances, the main auditorium becomes a cinema, showing current blockbusters as well as arthouse and classic films. This year sees the installation of our new, state-of-the-art digital screen. Find out what films are coming up in our film programme.
Our bar opens on performance nights.
The outside of the building remains the same as when it first opened in 1899, looking out onto historic Kirkcaldy's peaceful Memorial Gardens.
