The Arts Society Fife's art lecture in November is given by Imogen Corrigan. In it we hear about the master masons who built cathedrals, designed the buildings and ran the sites.
About Arts Lecture - Stone on Stone: The Men who Built Cathedrals by Imogen Corrigan
In this lecture we meet the master masons who both designed the buildings and ran the sites. They did everything from sourcing the vast quantities of wood and stone to recruiting the workforce. The cathedrals we see today are their legacy,
Imogen Corrigan spent nearly twenty years in the British Army before going to the University of Kent to study Anglo-Saxon and Medieval History and Art where she graduated with a first class honours, followed by an MPhil from the University of Birgmingham. Imogen works as a freelance lecturer across the UK and the rest of Europe, as well as lecturing on small cruise ships and running study tours and courses. A published author, she has written "Stone on Stone: The Men who built the Cathedrals" (published 2019). Ashley is a Member of the Company of Communicators and a Freeman of the City of London.
COSTS:
Our membership fee for our 2023/24 lecture series is £55 for a single membership and £100 for joint membership.
Other events are optional extras.
All are welcome.
Visitors to a lecture are invited to leave a suggested donation of £8.
Complimentary teas and coffees are served after lectures.
