Come along to this leisurely bike ride, exploring local history! We will visit various Castles and Towers around Kirkcaldy, many of which not many people know much about or even that they exist! The new route includes an extra tower adding to the colourful history of Kirkcaldy and the surrounding area that we will explore on this ride.

The ride will have several stops on the route, where our Ride Leader/Guide will be providing lots of interesting information about the sites we will be visiting.

Location: The Prom, West End, Basin Car Park, KY1 1SL

Route Information:

Distance – long
Hills – mainly flat but a bit hillier when heading off-road in the Balwearie area.
Surfaces – A mix of off-road and tarmacked surfaces. Not recommended for young children or bikes with skinnier tyres.
Route – Connects St Serfs Tower, Ravenscraig Castle, Balwearie Castle & Tower, Seafield Tower and Piteadie Castle.
Additional Information
Please note that this bike ride is weather-dependent.

Participants should be able to cycle for 2-2.5hrs at a leisurely pace.

Please make sure your bike is roadworthy before coming and wear appropriate clothes for the weather. Remember to also bring your own water and snacks. There are some sections that will be on unpaved surfaces.

Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult.

The event is free but booking is required. You can choose to purchase a ticket with a donation. Donations help us do more work in our community.

Our booking form includes a series of optional anonymous questions. These help us learn more about the people we reach through our events. Any information you choose to share about your background is managed separately to information that you give us to process your booking (for example, your name).
