Fluid art is perfect for mindfulness as it encourages us to focus on the flow and movement of the paint and interaction of the colours as the painting develops, keeping us present the moment and creating a calm amidst the chaos.
Mindful Art is a great tool for anyone suffering from Anxiety or Depression or even Chronic Pain. I am personally affected by chronic pain and I have found that using art in mindfulness has greatly helped manage my pain.
This type of artwork is also perfect for those who think 'I'm not very artistic' as the paint does all the hard work for you!
And on top of being highly calming and relaxing, it's also a lot of FUN!
Workshops run for approximately 2.5hours and the cost is inclusive of all materials and refreshments. You will have the opportunity to create two canvas paintings and will be shown several different techniques that you can use. Following the workshop, you will have your own artwork to display in your home to remind you every day, to stay mindful.
During the Mindful Art workshops, we cover various fluid art techniques and use these to practice mindfulness. You will be guided through some different techniques and shown how different effects that can be achieved by using various tools and methods, before giving you the opportunity to pour your own creations. During the creative process, we will take some time to reflect on the present moment and practice some mindfulness exercises which you will be able to apply again and again with your finished pieces, as well as any other piece of artwork, by seeing it in a mindful way. We will also have a break halfway through the class where you will be provided with a drink and a sweet treat.
You will also be given the option to have a piece of high quality, one of a kind jewellery created just for you using the same paint as your own painting. This can act as a wonderful daily reminder to stay mindful and of your experience or can be a lovely self-made gift for a loved one.
Class participant generally leave feeling relaxed, having had a fun experience at the same time!
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
