We are so excited to welcome Apollo historian and author David Woods to Dalgety Bay Astronomy Club.
David Woods grew up in Glasgow and worked as a video editor at BBC Scotland. He is semi retired. He created and continues to curate the Apollo Flight Journal, an online resource on the Apollo missions that includes complete transcipts of the flight portions of those missions with commentary, audio, video and photographic material.
David wrote the highly-regarded book on Apollo, "How Apollo Flew to the Moon", and the Haynes 'Owners' Workshop Manual' on the Saturn V launch vehicle. He also co-wrote two other Haynes manuals, on the Gemini spacecraft and the Apollo Lunar Rover.
David will present a fascinating talk on how the Apollo program put humans on the surface of the Moon in only 8.5 years. Visiting the crucial stages of the Apollo mission and the technology used to achieve the monumental task.
David’s books will also be available to purchase on the night!
Doors open at 7am with the event blasting off at 7:30pm!
