An opportunity to hear how Portmoak Moss came into being 8,000 years ago and was almost destroyed in the 1960s. It is a story of how the community fought to repair and restore it . Portmoak Moss is now recognised as an outstanding example of peatland restoration where many fine examples of fauna and flora now thrive. The photography which augments the talk is outstanding. The talk is delivered by Jeff Gunnell and Michael McGinnis who have both been involved with the project for over 25 years.. If you are interested in woodland, flora, fauna and even badgers - this one is for you.
As always tea, coffee and themed home baking will be available prior to the start and the evening ends with our raffle - where the prizes touch each end of the sublime to ridiculous spectrum. This talk is highly recommended.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
