Create a Posy of herbs in wire
Discover the joys of working with wire and create your very own posy of lavender, sage, rosemary and other herbs. Working from line drawings , we will use different gauges of soft black iron wire to create our posies. It’s wonderfully easy to work with using just pliers and your fingers. Your posy of herbs can then sit within an apothecary’s jar, also made in wire, and mounted onto a canvas, or arranged in a vase.
All materials and tools will be supplied and there will be plenty of examples on hand. No experience required.

About your Tutor
Philippa Johnston is a metalwork artist based in Dunning in Perthshire who ‘draws’ with wire, creating pieces that sit somewhere between 2D and 3D. She also works sculpturally with recycled tin, clay and other materials. Her work reflects her love of animals and birds and her fascination with folk and children’s art. She opens the doors to her studio each year as part of Perthshire Open Studios.
