In this workshop, you will be guided through a step by step process of combining silk fabric, wool fibres and loose locks from a raw fleece to create a one of a kind piece of wearable art.
Nuno Felting is the process of making a new fabric by introducing a loose weave fabric with wool fibres, 'nuno' being the Japanese word for fabric or cloth. These two fibres are then felted together using a wet felting technique to create a unique lightweight but strong and cosy fabric that drapes well, lending itself to the making of scarves.
This is a practical workshop and also packed with theory along the way. Trish sources her fleece sustainably from local farmers and will share her wealth of knowledge and resources during the workshop.
You will be provided with an apron along with everything else needed to create your very own one of a kind scarf.
Each participant will need to bring along 2 large old towels and a bag to carry your finished (but damp!) scarf home in.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
