For this workshop, we will be working on an A6 sized image, so please bring along a selection of A6 postcard sized ideas, magazine cut outs, photos, anything to give you inspiration. Tracing from photographs works particularly well.
Hatty will demonstrate how to ink up and print one of her drypoint plates and then you can start drawing into your own printing plate with a metal tool. The plate is transparent so you can trace your image easily.
Finally, you can enjoy experimenting by printing your image in several colours, create different effects by wiping your image in different ways or even by adding watercolour to your print.
No experience is necessary and all materials will be provided. Just come along and enjoy a day of printing!
Hetty Haxworth graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1993, and has exhibited in the UK and abroad for the past 30 years. Her work has been shown at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, the Royal Scottish Academy and the Royal Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts, The Scottish Society of Artists and selected touring shows to Ohio, Australia, LA, Denmark and Brussels.
She has been teaching printmaking for many years, at Oxford print studio, Glasgow print studio, Off the rails arthouse at Ladybank and more recently from her studio in Fettercairn.
