The Adam Smith Global Foundations acclaimed Academic Programme will be held on Friday 7th June at St Bryce Kirk in Kirkcaldy, focusing on the relationship between Philosophy and Economics.

About International Panel on Philosophy and Economics

The Adam Smith Global Foundations acclaimed Academic Programme will be
held on Friday 7th June at St Bryce Kirk, Kirkcaldy at 2.30 pm and it is
envisaged that it will finish around 4.00 pm.

The event will focus on the relationship between Philosophy and
Economics, with examples of how ethics are central to many economic
issues. The international panel will include scholars from Scotland, Brazil
and Sweden.

Professor Kathleen Riach will chair the session. Professor Riach is
from the Adam Smith Business School at Glasgow University and is an
internationally recognised researcher, educator and speaker.

Professor Erik Angner is a Swedish-American Author and Professor of
Practical Philosophy at Stockholm University. He is a moral philosopher
who holds PhDs in both Philosophy and Economics. Amongst his
publications is a classic textbook on behavioural economics.

Associate Professor Robbie Mochrie lectures in Economics at Heriot
Watt University. He is the author of “How to Think Like an Economist”
which is due to be published by Bloomsbury next month in time for our
event.

Dr Ana Paula Londe Silva’s PhD researched Adam Smith and Slavery.
She is currently continuing to work on this as a Templeton Scholar at the
University of Glasgow. Ana brings a fresh perspective to Smith’s legacy.

The panel has been organised by Roger Mullin who is an Honorary
Professor of Law and Philosophy at the University of Stirling.
