The team of volunteers will also be able to give guidance on how you can fix items yourself.
**For anything electrical please email us beforehand by end of Monday 15th January to tell us what you would like to get fixed and we can let you know if it is likely to be fixable.**
2024 will see a monthly Repair & Advice Cafe on the 2nd Wednesday of the month.
In addition, we have decided to run an advisory service alongside the repairs to raise awareness about what is and isn’t fixable and how to look after what we own in order to minimize the risk of items breaking and falling apart. For the January 17th session we will have someone giving advice on bike maintenance and repairs, hopefully mobile phones (TBC) (what can/can’t be fixed and why refurbished phones are better choices than brand new), a cobbler advising about footwear (from 7pm), as well as an expert on air source heat pump installations.
There will be refreshments, books/magazines to browse and lots of lovely people to chat to. The Cafe will rotate locations so it’s a chance to peek inside places you may not have been into before, and see more of your local town. Register at the link to receive an email reminder about what the Repair & Advice Cafe will offer each month.
Location: Nisbet Room, David Russell Apartments (DRA), Buchanan Gardens St Andrews Fife KY16 9LY
Please note, Dairsie’s Repair Cafe meets on the last Wednesday of each month. So you can go to both.
There is plenty of parking available, the building is fully wheelchair accessible, and there are bike racks outside. There is a bus stop right outside DRA as well.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
