Award-winning violinist Seonaid Aitken pays tribute to her French Jazz violin hero Stéphane Grappelli to mark 25 years since his passing.

About Langtoun Jazz presents Seonaid Aitken Quintet

Specialising in Gypsy Jazz, Seonaid is a regular tutor at the Grappelli-Django Camp in The Netherlands and performs extensively with her Scottish Jazz Award-winning
band Rose Room. She has also been a guest with the Tim Kliphuis Sextet,
Tokyo Django Collective, Swing 2023 and top jazz fingerstyle virtuoso - and
former Grappelli guitarist - Martin Taylor MBE.

Seonaid and her piano quintet will celebrate Grappelli’s 60+ year career with swingin’ tunes from his solo repertoire such as ‘Pent Up House’, ‘Ol’ Man River’ and ‘Sweet Georgia Brown’ and will be sure to include a few numbers from his Quintette du Hot Club de France days and legendary duets with Classical violin virtuoso Yehudi Menuhin.
