The Wonder festival is a celebration of nature and the outdoors in the darkest time of the year, connecting people in magical, shared experiences centred around creativity and wellbeing and the idea of ‘wonder’.
The festival aims to create a sense of ‘wonder’ through connection with nature.
The core festival offer is a range of self-led and guided walks to explore the winter wonder of Cambo Estate. There will be dementia friendly guided walks to support families to enjoy time with loved ones over the festive period and heritage walks highlighting the history of the estate and house. A morning wildlife walk with Will Cresswell will highlight the New Year wildlife in a bird walk for beginners between woodland, garden and beach at Cambo, with mindful forest bathing and activity trails for families too. Booking from 16 December.
Using traditions of ‘wassailing’ as inspiration we encourage everyone to to join our ‘Wassail at the Wolf Moon’ full moon celebration on Saturday 3 January. With the backdrop of the Wolf Supermoon the garden will be full of fire and light with a torchlit parade as visitors will be encouraged to create costumes, noise makers and lanterns with Scrapantics to create a fun and noisy spectacle to wake the orchard for the year ahead. A sight not to be missed! To book, purchase a garden entry ticket for Saturday 3rd January for any attenders over 5, anytime from 10am.
With daily silent discos, live music and sessions at Wild Scottish Sauna at Kingsbarns beach there are lots of reasons to join our long weekend of Wonder at Cambo this January.
The Wonder Festival is supported by The Fife Strategic Events Fund.
