A mixed media concert event of chamber music with poetry.

Poetry by Vera Brittain, Winifred Holtby and W.E. Henley with a musical excerpt by Edward Brittain.
Join us for a special evening honouring authors and social campaigners Vera Brittain and Winifred Holtby. We will celebrate their lives and work in the beautiful McPherson Recital Room at the Laidlaw Music Centre.
This event features award-winning composer Eric Starr’s chamber music paired with the timeless poetry of these remarkable authors, narrated by Tamzin Merchant.
Tamzin Merchant is a celebrated actor known for her roles in Pride & Prejudice, The Tudors, Salem, and Carnival Row. She is also the bestselling and award-winning author of The Hatmakers and several other children’s books.
A brief Q&A and reception follows this performance.
