Marking the change of season into Autumn, we’re delighted to welcome, to our Merchant’s Room Community Art Gallery for the first time, Finnish artist and Bonemaiden, Riikka Palonen, whose work magnificently reflects her immersion in the natural world and the cycles within it.
Whether capturing the profound peace of the forest in chalk sketches or the majesty of the sunrise over the horizon in colours worthy of a medieval manuscript, Riikka’s depictions of the creatures and spirits who inhabit the land and sea almost leap out of the frame.
Her “Flotsam” exhibition here is free to see (with works for sale) and runs (appropriately !) until the beginning of November as the nights draw in between Michaelmas and Samhain.
Admission is free
All are welcome to join Riikka for stories which echo the themes in her art work on Monday 13th October at 2pm - see separate event listing or contact jen@scotfishmuseum.org for more information.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
