There have been some amazing cloudscapes recently, with dramatic lighting effects.
Painting skies is a great way of loosening up if we feel our watercolour
paintings have been looking too 'tight'. Many artists paint skies regularly outside - 'en plein air', as it's sometimes called. When using photographs as reference though, we need to be mindful that this is only the starting point - the inspiration.
This class not only covers the painting techniques but also how to develop imagination as the basis for dynamic landscape paintings.
Learn about using bold brushstokes, colour mixing directly on the paper, using bigger brushes - and lots more!
All materials supplied. Refreshments included.
