JIM BORROWS will perform a selection of songs from his new album
“CARRY ME BACK TO MY OLD FRONT DOOR”
(recorded with Dave Pegg of Fairport Convention)
The set will comprise a combination of covers including several Bob Dylan numbers and Jim’s original compositions.
“A lovely album with some fab song writing from Jim” - Chris Leslie, Fairport Convention.
“It’s a cracker. Recommended listening” - Graham Dixon, musician and author.
“The piano is really lovely and the voice is very expressive” - Hilary Dieu, saxophonist.
Jim Borrows has been playing piano for as long as he can remember, even before he began taking music lessons at age five. His public performances to date have been limited in number, principally comprising occasional impromptu stints at business conferences, where he would typically play after dinner into the wee small hours for anyone prepared either to listen, or, preferably, to sing along. Most of his piano playing since early adulthood has involved arranging his own cover versions of other musicians’ compositions. More recently, as his non-musical business career has wound down, Jim has been composing original material – music and lyrics - and has been endeavouring to improve his vocal skills. “Carry Me Back to My Old Front Door” is his first professionally produced album.
