Transition University of St Andrews is running its first ever Winter Fair on Sunday December 8th 2:30 – 5:30pm in the Town Hall. It aims to be a bit of an antidote to the standard Christmas Markets that abound and the focus will be on:
1. A second-hand marketplace (where people can exchange/ pay nominal amounts for toys/games, clothes or gifts),
2. Skillsharing and upcycling (volunteers will help people learn new skills and make presents for their loved ones from wood, fabric, natural and other waste materials),
3. Fulfil a Wish Tree (where people can donate money to help people receive something special/ a special experience this Christmas),
4. Free food made by the local Afghan refugee community, student societies and social enterprise Café Zest.
5. Live music - there is a rota of local people playing the grand piano on the stage or an instrument of their choice.
Do get in touch with Transition, if you would like to get involved (transition@st-andrews.ac.uk), otherwise make sure to pop the event in your diaries!
More info about how FUN the event will be and what donations Transition is looking for is available on our website link above.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
