About Iolanthe

University of St Andrews' Gilbert and Sullivan Society presents Iolanthe

29 October, 7.30pm & 30 October, 2.30pm – Pay What You Can £12 / £10 / £8

Wednesday 30 October, 7.30pm – Pay What You Can £14 / £12 / £10

Talented students bring the story of forbidden love, Iolanthe to the stage. Star-crossed lovers are oblivious to the danger that their forbidden love holds, and it is up to Iolanthe to confront the unjust laws that are now endangering her son.

Twenty-five years after Iolanthe broke fair-law and married a mortal, her (now adult) son is unaware of his magical origins and has fallen in love with a mortal. Both star-crossed lovers are oblivious to the danger that their forbidden love holds as this magical tale unfolds.
