About Happy 100th Birthday Rhapsody in Blue
The energetic piano duo mark the 100th anniversary of Gershwin’s iconic Rhapsody in Blue to celebrate their 20th year of performing together in over 120 countries. Rhapsody In Blue is one of the groundbreaking musical works of the twentieth century and marked a change in the face of classical and popular music it made its debut in 1924. On this occasion you’ll hear this musical gem in its rawest form with both the solo piano and orchestral parts all performed with four hands on one piano. Hear its fascinating story and how it actually almost didn’t happen!
The varied programme also includes Worbey and Farrell’s Variations on John Lennon’s Imagine and Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf (with a refreshingly happy ending).
