Rakhat-Bi Abdyssagin’s operatic depiction of the life of Robert the Bruce is based on excerpts from the medieval narrative poem The Bruce written by John Barbour in c1375. Specifically composed to be performed in large sacred settings, a large part of the accompaniment is written for organ, here played by the composer.
An epic narrative of freedom, independence, nobility, courage, and virtue unfolds in this monumental cathedral opera. Join us for a unique experience at the intersection of history and art.
