Ken Loach sets his latest film in a former mining village in the north of England, stripped of value by those in control and then left to decline gradually. Loach explores what happens when Syrian refugees, moved into cheap and decaying housing stock, encounter the local community.
Just like the community in which they find themselves, TJ Ballantyne (Dave Turner) and Yara (Ebla Mari) are damaged by what life has thrown at them and struggling to recover hope and dignity.
Director: Ken Loach
Duration: 113m
