The Madonna and Child with the Infant Saint John the Baptist is the oldest artwork in OnFife Museums’ collection. Until recently, not much was known about this fabulous, more than 500 years old painting.
Thanks to the funding from Woodmansterne Art Conservation Awards and the Common Good Funds, we were able to undertake extensive conservation and analysis of the painting between 2019-2022.
This display unveils the secrets of this fascinating painting, discovered during and after its conservation.
