Kellie Castle & Garden Summer Workshops 2022

Kellie Castle is running a series of events this August, inspired by both the property’s artistic heritage and the skills of the experts who care for it today.

Kellie Castle & Garden Summer Workshops 2022

About Kellie Castle & Garden Summer Workshops 2022

Three workshops:

7th August, Kellie Critter Hunt - For Children, 10am & 2pm
The fun begins on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 August with a critter hunt, led by Anne Traill (Visitor Services Assistant). This is a fun-filled, 2-hour adventure for children aged around 6–9 and their accompanying adults.

Armed with a magnifying glass, a critter trail checklist and critter stickers, each child will become a Kellie Critter Explorer. Kellie critter experts will take them on a trail to find and examine critters (real and decorative) found in the castle and garden. Once they have successfully tracked down all the critters, the Kellie Critter Explorers will make their own critters or critter hotels out of foraged materials from the garden.

Tickets cost £5 plus booking fee and advance booking is essential.

8th August, Pastel & Watercolour, 9.30am - 5pm
On Monday 8 August, there’s a one-day workshop on working with pastels, for artists of all abilities, led by acclaimed Fife-based creator Dorothy Black.

Participants will learn a range of pastel techniques and then will create work directly inspired by Kellie Castle & Garden. You can take your artwork home, along with the skills and enthusiasm to continue your creative journey. Tea, coffee and a light lunch are included.

Tickets cost £85 and spaces are limited, so pre-booking is essential.

9th August, Organic Gardening, 9.30am - 5pm
On Tuesday 9 August, the focus shifts outdoors with a one-day organic gardening workshop aimed at keen gardeners who wish to improve their knowledge of organic gardening.

Under the guidance of Mark Armour (Head Gardener at Kellie Castle), participants will learn the five principles of organic gardening and leave with an analysis of their soil, a box of organic plant plugs and the knowledge needed to go organic in their garden. Tea, coffee and a light lunch, made with Kellie garden produce, is included.

Tickets cost £85 and spaces are limited, so please book in advance.
