A selection of Fife’s finest food and drink producers will be in attendance for another Bowhouse Market Weekend on the second weekend in April.
In accordance with current guidelines, only Fife traders will be visiting, with locals able to shop from a wide variety of food and drink from independent traders and producers based at Bowhouse food hub in the East Neuk.
Shoppers will be able to fill their basket with seasonal produce such as mutton, venison and lamb, rhubarb, seasonal vegetables, store cupboard essentials and sweet treats, craft drinks, cured meat, baking, cheeses and preserves. With an impressive roster of bakers, brewers, butchers, growers and chefs in attendance, the Bowhouse Market Weekend enables Fifers to support a wide network of family businesses.
Produce available from the makers based at Bowhouse include:
• Organic beef, lamb, venison and pork from Butchery at Bowhouse
• Wholemeal organic flours from Scotland the Bread
• Organic vegetables and salads from East Neuk Market Garden
• Rums, ciders, beers and natural wines from Futtle Organic Brewery
• Fresh vegetables from East Neuk Produce
• Fresh flowers from Keeping the Plot
• A range of household and pantry supplies from zero-waste store Grain & Sustain
• A menu of seasonal dishes to take away from chef Jess Rose Young
Produce available from visiting traders at Bowhouse will include a range of cakes, beers, chocolates, spirits and more - all produced in Fife. This includes:
• Fruit cordials made from local berries from Alice’s Kitchen
• Home made cakes from Cukie Patisserie
• Specially blend teas from O M Tea
• Chocolate and gourmet drinking chocolates from Pittenweem’s Cocoa Tree
• Local craft beers from Blunt Chisel Brewery and Coul Brewing
• Fife-made rum from Rumburra
• Fruit spirits from Tay Spirits
• A range of kombuchas from Buddy Kombucha
Bowhouse Link was launched during lockdown as a weekly online market on the Open Food Network to enable customers to continue shopping from Bowhouse based and local artisan makers. Customers can shop Monday to Wednesday from a range of selected producers. Orders are then packed for delivery or pick up at the market on the Saturday.
Based on Balcaskie Estate, Bowhouse opened in 2017 to provide the missing link between farm and fork, with a mission to connect maker with consumer.
