We are releasing more information for customers ahead of our phased re-opening programme.
We are launching an expanded online booking service – a requirement for entry to facilities as part of our Covid-19 health and safety measures, as well as details of programmes and opening times.
We’re urging customers to register for our online booking service so that they can access gyms, group fitness classes and swimming pools when doors open.
Customers entering one of our venues will also need to wear a face-covering before and after an activity, or, when in non-activity areas of the venue, for example, reception, changing rooms, hallways and communal areas.
Leisure Active members, our low-cost membership programme, are also in for a bonus from the charitable trust as a thank you for their patience and support during lockdown – members will benefit from a month’s free membership as well as being reimbursed for two weeks in March prior to fees being suspended during lockdown.
And, participants of the popular Learn to Swim programme can be expected to be contacted with full details of when swimming lessons will resume.
Scott Urquhart, sports and physical activity team manager for Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, said: “As part of our Covid health and safety measures, we will be restricting the number of customers in centres at any one time to ensure adequate social distancing, so, we are urging customers who may not already be registered with us to do so in order to access facilities and programmes.
“We are very keen to welcome customers back to our facilities and we have worked hard to deliver pool and group fitness timetables which can allow the best use of the facilities under the new measures. We have also prepared our gyms so that users can work out safely and get the best use of the equipment.
“Details of the booking system, programmes and what to expect from out Covid-ready centres will be uploaded to the website and social media pages.”
The trust will roll-out a phased re-opening programme to ensure the safety of customers and staff – it will see Michael Woods Sports and Leisure Centre in Glenrothes, Carnegie Leisure Centre and Pitreavie Athletics Centre, in Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy Leisure Centre opening doors first on Monday, September 14, followed by East Sands Leisure Centre, Levenmouth Swimming Pool and Sports Centre, Cowdenbeath Leisure Centre and Dalgety Bay Leisure Centre on Monday, September 28.
The next phase will see Duloch Leisure Centre, Cupar Leisure Centre, Bowhill Swimming Pool and Waterstone Crook Leisure Centre welcoming customers on Monday, October 12, followed by the Beacon Leisure Centre on Monday, October 26.
The trust will be releasing details of its online booking system, programme timetables and new customer app over the coming weeks so that customers can easily access facilities with the new Covid measures in place.
