Sipping, swapping and hanging out with avid readers is on the agenda for reading enthusiasts and bookish aficionados at the much-anticipated Bookface Sip & Swap on Sunday 5th May, featuring the esteemed author Helen Fields, renowned for her gripping thrillers including The Institution and her latest release, Profile K.
The Cold Town House in the Grassmarket area of the city is the host venue for the event which promises an engaging afternoon filled with discussions, book swapping, and the opportunity to meet one of the most prominent figures in contemporary literature.
Known for her devastatingly dark and gripping thrillers, guests can expect to be enthralled by her latest masterpiece, Profile K.
The Bookface Sip & Swap features a Q&A session with the author and former criminal barrister, providing attendees with insights into her work and the creative process behind her compelling novels. She infuses her novels with a level of authenticity that sets them apart in the realm of crime fiction.
Attendees will have the chance to choose from a curated selection of 200 books and participate in the sustainable book swap. The concept is simple: bring a book, take a book or two, and engage in the joy of sharing stories and ideas with fellow book lovers. Each ticket priced £20 grants attendees access to the event, the book swap and two complimentary drinks.

Since 2020, Bookface events have garnered acclaim from past attendees, including notable figures such as Val McDermid, John Niven, Chris Brookmyre, Alan Parks, Lisa Gray, Billy Sloan, Helen Fitzgerald, Ambrose Parry, Doug Allan, Susannah Constantine, and Nikki May.
