Family singalong show Funbox will be coming to Glasgow, as part of drive-in extravaganza The Parking Lot Social. Organisers are also hosting an extra-special family day out every Saturday and Sunday through August and early September with Social Kids.
Bringing a wealth of experience from their days as performers and writers of The Singing Kettle, Funbox will be getting all nautical with their Pirate Party, a new show of family singalong silliness for kids of all ages.
Get ready to raise the flag and set sail in your own car for some nautical nonsense with Gary, Anya and Kevin. Expect songs and silliness galore in this exciting new production.
Packed with classic songs like ‘Over the Irish Sea’, ‘What Shall We Do With The Drunken Sailor?’ and “Ally-Ally-Oh’ along with catchy new tunes, Pirate Party singalong experience for families and friends of all ages – from nought to ninety!
Make sure you come dressed as a pirate. Maybe you could even decorate your car!
Mini pirates and landlubbers will watch the show from the comfort of their own car, viewed from a vast-inflatable set with two 40ft screens. The whole performance will be transmitted directly to custom-made wireless headphones and through a dedicated FM radio channel for listening via the car stereo.
Organisers of The Parking Lot Social will also be hosting Social Kids. Catch this brand new show every Saturday and Sunday in August in Edinburgh (August 15 and 16, 22 and 23), then see it in Glasgow (August 29 and 30, September 5 and 6).
The afternoon starts with pre-show live DJs to get you settled in and hyped up. Then expect Car-a-oke with live bands playing your favourites on stage and you singing your heart out in one mass, slightly out of tune, singalong.
Then there’s Silent Disco with two DJs on separate channels simultaneously beaming music to your car at the same time. Tune in via wireless headphones, and vote for your favourite by singing along the loudest.
There’s also Boom Boom Bingo which definitely isn’t your grandma's bingo! There will be numbers called, and prizes won but get ready for a unique, kid-friendly twist on the theme.
Finally, there’s the Big Family Quiz. Who knows their Dreamworks from their Disney? Play as a team with everyone in your car with big prizes up for grabs for the winning car.
The Funbox Pirate Party takes place in Edinburgh on Saturday 15 August and Glasgow on 29 August, from 11am. Tickets can be purchased online now, with prices starting from £31.90 per car.
