This history building dates back to the 19th century, originally a ships chandlers and converted to a pub in 1924. One of the “Harbours” unique features is that it still has its grade C listed "Jug Bar" at the entrance to the building, earning its place in CAMRA'a heritage pubs.

The Harbour Bar closed August 2021 for a substantial refurbishment including the installation of a brewery producing Belgian style ales. The pub reopened 27th July 2022 styling itself as Scotland's Belgian Pub offering cask ales, French ciders, Belgian beers and more.
