Workshops run throughout Fife all year round and are scheduled on a quarterly basis. Mindful Art is also available for private bookings for community groups, corporate team building and private functions such as Hen or Birthday parties.
Mindful Art workshops are focused on providing 'breathing space' by practicing mindfulness in art. Creative or not, come along and learn some fun fluid art techniques, whilst also finding some 'calm' through practicing mindfulness.
Mindfulness is well established as a great tool for anyone suffering from Anxiety or Depression or even Chronic Pain. Fluid art is perfect for mindfulness as it encourages us to focus on the flow and movement of the paint and interaction of the colours as the painting develops, keeping us present the moment and creating a calm amidst the chaos.
During the Mindful Art workshops, we cover various fluid art techniques and use these to practice mindfulness. You will be guided through some different techniques and shown how different effects that can be achieved by using various tools and methods, before giving you the opportunity to pour your own creations. During the creative process, we will take some time to reflect on the present moment and practice some mindfulness exercises which you will be able to apply again and again with your finished pieces, as well as any other piece of artwork, by seeing it in a mindful way.
