Glasgow Green is by far the oldest of the city's parks established in the 15th century. It is situated within walking distance of the city centre east of the Saltmarket.
It's home to a variety of attractions, including:
• The People's Palace, a museum dedicated to the history of Glasgow's working class
• The Nelson Monument, a 130-foot (40-meter) column dedicated to Admiral Lord Nelson
• The McLennan Arch, a 19th-century archway that is a popular spot for photo ops
• The Templeton Carpet Factory, a former carpet factory that is now a popular event space
• The St. Andrew's Suspension Bridge, a suspension bridge that connects Glasgow Green to the south side of the River Clyde
Glasgow Green is also a popular spot for walking, fishing, and cycling.
In addition to its historical and recreational attractions, Glasgow Green is also home to a number of events throughout the year including TRNSMT Festival and the World Pipe Band Championships.
Glasgow Green is a popular tourist destination and a great place to spend a day outdoors. It is easily accessible from the city center and offers something for everyone.
