Wrap up warm and head along to The Crusoe, Lower Largo for a spooktacular autumn festival on Sunday, 31st October.
A must visit for families across Fife and beyond, the day will have Halloween games and activities for kids, a bustling outdoor market with local food and drink makers, delicious spooky themed hot food and home baking from The Crusoe Kitchen. Talented musician Nick Mercer JR will also be performing, Mercer was a former front man of the band, Sergeant, who supported Oasis and The Fratellis on their UK tours. The Crusoe will be holding a pumpkin carving competition for kids in partnership with Largo Estate, for the chance to win a free dinner at The Crusoe. Pumpkins grown on Largo Estate will be available for purchase from The Crusoe on Wednesday 27th October, giving plenty of time for designing and crafting their entry.
With impressive views over the harbour and across the Firth of Forth, the outdoor space will be transformed into a market for local food and drink makers. The Crusoe will welcome stallholders from across Fife including:
Ciders, perry and wines from Aeble Cider, Scotland first dedicated cider shop opened by Grant and Jaye Hutchison in Anstruther.
Relishes, chutneys and pickles from Seaweed N Stuff, made by Julie Campbell, who uses locally foraged seaweed and sea vegetables from the Fife coast in her Pittenweem kitchen.
Fruit vinegars, jellies and jams from Fiona and Michael Audsley at Pittenweem Preserves.
Sweet and savoury bakes and breads from the award-winning Fife family bakers Barnett’s Bakery.
Kimchi, a Korean fermented cabbage, handmade in the East Neuk of Fife by Angrykulture Ferments.
Free range duck and hens eggs from family farm, Blyths of Fife.
A selection of winter squashes and pumpkins from Largo Estate for cooking and carving at home.
The stalls will be open for trade between 11am – 4pm, offering locals and visitors a chance to browse and shop whilst enjoying a mix of popular Halloween tunes and original music from local musicians.
Kids will be able to visit the Halloween tent between 6 – 8pm for fancy-dress competitions, trick or treating and themed interactive games with fun Halloween prizes.
The kitchen will be serving venison burgers, bratwursts, vegan chilli, sausages in finger rolls, cakes and biscuits throughout the day as well as craft ales, Pilgrim’s mulled gin and spiced plum cider for the adults from 11 – 8pm.
