Award-winning pianist Euan Stevenson is a musician who is active and respected in both the classical music and jazz worlds. Stevenson is the co-writer and musical director for popular singer and Jazz FM favourite, Georgia Cecile and has worked with vocalist Tina May, guitarist Jim Mullen, and fellow pianist David Newton in a two-piano duo. He also co-leads, with saxophonist Konrad Wisznewski, the band New Focus, whose self-titled debut album was shortlisted for the Scottish Album of the Year and who have played at Ronnie Scott’s in London, at Celtic Connections in Glasgow and Lichfield Festival.
Stevenson has also arranged music for the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra, the BBC Concert Orchestra, the Bach Choir, the English Chamber Orchestra and international revered violinist Pinchas Zukerman and leads the chamber group Earthtones Trio with flautist Katherine Bryan and cellist Betsy Taylor.
Here Stevenson fronts his jazz trio with bassist Andy Sharkey and drummer Tom Gordon, playing tunes associated with some of his favourite jazz pianists including Duke Ellington, Bill Evans and Oscar Peterson.
