Booker-shortlisted and PEN/Hemingway Award for debut fiction winner, Ottessa Moshfegh, will be visiting St Andrews this coming Summer! One of our special treats for the summer holidays, we are extremely excited to be welcoming this immensely talented novelist.
In a village in a medieval fiefdom buffeted by natural disasters, a motherless shepherd boy finds himself the unlikely pivot in a power struggle that puts all manner of faith to a savage test. Following the story of Little Marek and his enduring bond with the blind village midwife, Ina, the veil between blindness and sight, life and death, the natural world and the spirit world will prove to be very thin indeed. The spellbinding Lapvona might prove to be Ottessa Moshfegh’s most exciting leap yet.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
