Traditional Scottish, Irish and English Folk Music sessions at a slower pace. Ideal for beginner and intermediate players, but everyone wanting to play welcome!
Sheet music allowed. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere and without an audience and therefore beginner friendly. The tunes we are playing are pre-set around a week before the session by the two session leads which gives you time to practice. This month the theme is “Burns Night”. Suggestions for future tunes are always welcome!
The Slow Session takes place on Sundays 5pm - 7pm once a month (usually the 3rd Sunday).
Since November 2021 we have a new location: Dickson Hall, St Margaret of Scotland Episcopal Church, 27A Queen St, Tayport DD6 9JZ. The church is set back from the street- parking is on-street. The hall is behind the Church, the entry is after the small passageway left of the church.
The event is free but we would be grateful for a £2 contribution to help with the lightening and heating of the hall if you can.
There is tea and coffee for the break and you could even bring your own bottle if you are in the mood :)
Please contact the organiser if you are not on the e-mail list or do not have access to the shared folder to access the sheet music.
We adhere to current Scottish Government Covid regulations. That also means that door and windows stay open- so please, wrap up nicely and remember your face masks! Do not attend if you experience any Covid symptoms and consider a lateral flow test on the day to keep everyone safe.
See you hopefully soon!
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
