If you want to start becoming more active and getting a little bit fitter, the Couch to 5k programme by Get Fit Falkland is just what you need.
Start date - Saturday 9th October
It's probably the most successful Couch to 5k group in Fife - over 400 people have gone through it so far. Most of them were probably unsure about it - maybe even a little bit scared at the thought. But there's no need to worry, because we start by jogging for just 30 seconds. If you can do that, you can succeed! All that we need from you is the desire to do it.
Every one of our leaders has been in your shoes. We've all been through the programme, and we understand all of your doubts and fears. We know when to encourage you, when to push you on a little bit - and when to leave you alone with your own thoughts.
We meet once a week in the beautiful surroundings of Falkland Estate at The Stables - well away from the public gaze, and where the only other people you'll encounter will also be doing some form of exercise. You don't need any fancy gear - we promise, no Lycra! Just a pair of decent shoes that are suitable for jogging. It's not a Boot Camp - we want you to enjoy the experience, not be intimidated by it. So we all jog together as a group, going at the pace of the slowest member.
At the end of the session, we have refreshments and a snack and chat about our experience. In fact, many long term friendships have been formed over a cup of coffee and a banana!
