A Collaboration of Art and Poetry
This collaboration of art and poetry stimulated the idea of Fuse-the-Muse, where Pauline and Mac respond to each other’s work through personal interpretation.
Their differences create interesting and thought-provoking juxtapositions of art. This exhibition will prompt visitors to reflect, in stimulating ways, on the relationship between the written/spoken word and visual images.
Exploration on the Borderline
The artists work explores visually and literally the meaning of Borderlines through crossing the borders between prose, voice and images to interpretations of physically crossing the border or borders-between night & day, male & female, love & hate, life & death and so on. Twist, Undergrowth, in Memoriam, Which Ones Witch? and Solid Heart for Suffering Souls are from a series of works based on the witch trials of Perthshire and Fife as is the Artists Book – Borderlines.
Pauline finds Mac’s poetry offers an immediate image she can respond to while Mac writes poetry in response to Pauline’s images.
