The Muirhead Mile

About The Muirhead Mile

Location: Riverside Park, Leslie Road, Glenrothes, KY6 3EP

Becoming an annual event, we're gearing up for the Muirhead Mile. Last year we did it virtually, this year, we're hoping for more leeway with restrictions. We're going to set up a route for you to walk at your convenience. We'll have a scavenger hunt to follow, with Muirhead Facts.

May is National Walking month and hosts international families day, so it's the perfect time for a fun walk, to boost your spirits, boost our profile in the community and boost our bank balance!

Through the 5 Ways to Wellbeing it has been proven that by being active (e.g. going for a walk) can actually help to improve your mental wellbeing. This means that physical activity is good not only for your body but it’s great for your mind too.

Research has shown that physical activity releases chemicals in your brain that make you feel good – boosting your self-esteem, helping you concentrate as well as sleep, look and feel better. Not bad for something we can quite easily do for free! A few benefits of being physically active are:

- less tension, stress and mental fatigue
- a natural energy boost
- improved sleep.

So, improve your wellness and raise funds and awareness for The Muirhead Outreach Project, don your walking boots and get walking!
