It is being staged by Fife Cultural Trust which manages Kirkcaldy Galleries - home to the biggest Peploe collection outside of the National Galleries Scotland.
2021 sees the 150th anniversary of the birth of Samuel John Peploe, one of Scotland's best known artists, born in Edinburgh on 27 January 1871. Along with John Duncan Fergusson, Francis Cadell and George Leslie Hunter, Peploe is part of the group of artists known as the Scottish Colourists.
What better way to celebrate this special anniversary than by bringing them all together in one place. Here we have vivid still lifes, tranquil Hebridean landscapes, bustling scenes of Parisian life and vibrant portraits - a testament to Peploe's love of light, colour and composition. Enjoy!
While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for SJ Peploe 150th Anniversary Showcase are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment. All information (whether in text or photographs) is given in good faith but should not be relied upon as being a statement of representation or fact.
