Wake up and smell the poetry
What better way to begin the day than with poetry? Our breakfast panel events offer a relaxed start to the day, with a group of poets and other festival participants discussing all things poetical. We can’t offer the usual Byre coffee and Fisher and Donaldson pastries this year, but if you bring your own cuppa, we’ll try and channel those pastries. This morning we’ll be joining Kate Tough, who creates found poetry with a political slant, Greg Thomas, a critic and editor with a focus and concrete poetry, and Lisa Kelly, whose latest collection unpicks the language of consumerism. Together, they’ll be discussing how poetry can be made new, and poetry’s capacity to help us reimagine the future.
The panel discussion will be streamed to this page and followed by a Zoom Q&A to allow for audience discussion. Just turn up here for the panel discussion. You can book a ticket to receive the link to the Zoom Q&A in advance. The link will also be shared during the discussion.
