About StAnza21: Worth a thousand words

A poetry workshop led by Nadine Aisha Jassat

Carve out time for your own writing and hone your poetry skills at today’s workshop, where we’ll be responding to images by feminist social documentary photographer, and late St Andrews alumni, Franki Raffles. Best known for her work with Zero Tolerance, Raffles also created a series of photographs documenting the lives and work of women in the Soviet Union in the 1980s, a series which this workshop takes as its starting point.

Our tutor for today, Nadine Aisha Jassat, is a writer known for combining poetry with social justice. Her work explores themes of voice, storytelling and resilience.

This event will take place on Zoom.

In partnership with Special Collections at the University of St Andrews and the Wardlaw Museum

Participants: Nadine Aisha Jassat
