About The Alternative University of St Andrews

Come along to All Saints Church Hall where the Alternative University of St Andrews is having its third… un-semester?

While university staff are once more on strike for fairer working conditions, a small band of merry volunteers will be doing what they love most: Marketisation-free teaching!

No fees, no exams, no entry requirements. All are welcome, whether you usually have anything to do with the university or not. Entry is free: not pay-what-you-like free; not free-but-please-give-a-donation free; just free.

Each speaker will present some ideas they find interesting in jargon-free style. Questions are encouraged, and the atmosphere is friendly (if a little chilly in the air temperature sometimes — please wrap up). Sometimes there is leftover cake from the picket lines.

The Alternative University will run on these dates: 24th-26th Feb; 2nd-5th March; 9th-13th March. See event website for full programme.

Venue: All Saints Church, N Castle St, St Andrews KY16 9BG
