About The Merry Wives Of Windsor

The Three Inch Fools are back for another wonderful outdoor theatre performance at Hill of Tarvit! This summer they’ll entertain us with their brand new production of The Merry Wives Of Windsor. Prepare for a carnival of passion and imagination.

This Shakespearean classic will be getting the full Three Inch Fools treatment: live music-making, deft physicality and vibrant storytelling. Expect fast-paced drama, plenty of musical instruments and many a quick costume change along the way!

Five actors, with all manner of musical instruments, present an inventive take on Shakespeare’s raucous comedy The Merry Wives Of Windsor. In this mischievous play, jealousy, disguise and seduction lead to hilarious and unexpected results.

The Three Inch Fools are an innovative touring theatre company acclaimed for their fast-paced and musically driven approach to Shakespeare. They’ve built a reputation for staging bold and vibrant productions – using all sorts of different instruments, plenty of multi-roling and many a quick costume change along the way. For each production, they create a completely original musical soundtrack collaborating with rising star composer Stephen Hyde. This soundtrack moves between folk music and world music to classical, rock, pop and opera – and everywhere in between!

This year The Fools are looking forward to an incredible summer on the road, travelling the length and breadth of the UK with their modern take on the traditional touring troupe. The Fools will perform come rain come shine in the great British outdoors at over 100 different venues across the UK – castles, gardens, stately homes, historic barns, National Trust properties, village greens, churches, cathedrals, museums, arts centres, and even a royal residence or two – indeed any place where five actors and an audience can fit!

Family tickets for two adults and two children at £42.

Free admission for children aged under 10.
