This prime location offers you Edinburgh's iconic landmarks at your fingertips, from the majestic castle to the stately Holyrood Palace. Savour the city's vibrant culture with an impressive array of shops, museums, and galleries, and admire the grandeur of Georgian and Victorian architecture, all just a leisurely stroll away.
As the Edinburgh Fringe, the world's largest arts festival, sweeps over the city each August, Hotel du Vin becomes an oasis of tranquillity amidst the colourful hustle, making us an ideal home base for festivalgoers.
Our boutique hotel, housed in a building rich in history and once serving as a poorhouse, an asylum, and a science lab, now opens its doors as a stunning luxury hotel. Each of our 47 rooms and suites brims with character, meticulously designed to evoke a sense of indulgence. Experience the luxury of custom-made sleigh beds, hand-sprung mattresses, soft Egyptian cotton linens, plush towels, and robes. A monsoon shower and an in-room roll top bath are just a few of the thoughtful details awaiting your stay.
When the Scottish summer sun smiles, our central courtyard blossoms into a picturesque al fresco dining area, perfect for savouring a delightful meal or sipping on refreshing beverages. During the cooler months, the warmth of our Bistro du Vin kitchen beckons. Unwind with a cosy nightcap at our bar, retreat to our Whisky Snug, or savour a cigar paired with your favourite tipple in the warmth of our heated Cigar Bothy. (Closed in August)
